    sometime & some time

    sometime & some time

Do they have the same meaning in the following two sentences?

    1. It happened sometime / some time last month.

    2. We expect him back sometime / some time next week.

i've never used some time. It just sounds wrong. Sorry, I don't know why.

    Re: sometime & some time

Having thought a minute (brain rattles and screw falls out ear) I could say something like "there are some times when I sing" referring to some definite events of singing. If the time was know for a single past event neither one would be used. "Sometimes i sing" does not refer to and definite singing events. All future events are unknown, thus he will be back sometime. One time last month, this huge rock fell on my head. Sometimes it makes me think better.
