    more egg per dollar

    The chef says:
"I prefer the extra large eggs because they have better value. There is more egg per dollar."

What does "There is more egg per dollar" mean?!

    Thanks.

    Re: more egg per dollar

Per dollar spent, a large egg is a better return than a small egg. It has more content.

What does "There is more egg per dollar" mean?! It means exactly that; more egg bought per dollar spent. (not more eggs per dollar) It is comparing the content, that is the amount of egg received, per dollar spent.

For example, if you buy extra large eggs you get 220 grams of egg per dollar. But if you buy large eggs, you get only 205 grams of egg per dollar.

    Thanks.
