    checking of a few sentences 9

    Would you be kind enough to check out the plausibility of the following sentences?

    He drove at the rate of 60 miles an hour.

    The most rapid rate of a box-wagon is about thirty miles per hour.

    rate = a quantity measured with respect to another measured quantity

    She borrowed money at a high interest rate.

    interest rate = the percentage of a sum of money charged for its use

    Here is a list of several rates for different kinds of risk.

    rate = the amounts charged by an insurer for different kinds of risk

    We enclose a list of our rates for supplying building mateials.

    The rate of pay for a fitter is &2 per hour.

    rate = the of a unit of a commodity or service

    That player is rated among the very best.

    This wine rates as excellent.

    She is rated as one of the best tennis players in the country.

    Why should you rate yourself above this job?

    She was rated an excellent pianist.

    He rates as the finest teacher we have.

    rate = to be ranked; to rank; grade

    What do you rate his fortune at?

    rate = estimate

    This wine rates with the very best.

    rate = to compare

    She really rates with them.

    rate = to enjoy a favored status

    This restaurant is rated very highly.
