    Family

    hello!

Could you tell me why is correct in English this form: "All the family go fishing"...???
I would say: All the family goes fishing...

Is it a property of the verb (to go foshing)???
or...is it a property of family???

    Thank you for answering!

The verb is connected to the family, but see the following link for information about collective nouns being singular or plural:

It depends on the context, yes. If you click on the link I sent, I think that gives a very clear explanation!

Yes, both are correct. It depends on whether you are seeing the family as a single unit or as several individual people.
