Does 'very worth sth/doing' sound good to native English speakers?

I read Swan's PRACTICAL ENGLISH USAGE, 3rd edition:
Leicester's well worth visiting. (not: very worth...)

But there are sentences with 'very worth' in americancorpus.org:
1 VERY WORTH 6
12004SPOKCNN_Dobbs but it was very worth discussing. 22004NEWSDenver says Wilburn. " It's very worth the $50 you'll 32000SPOKCNN_King I think all that's very worth doing. OK. 41997SPOKABC_20/20 Yes, it's very worth it. It's very worth it. 51997SPOKABC_20/20 Yes, it's very worth it. It's very worth it. It's like 61992SPOKABC_20/20 making would be very worth his while. Thank you in advance.

I've never heard this phrase before. It might be a new American invention, given the clues in the link titles, which unfortunately lead me nowhere.

Hello Joham,
'very worth' doesn't sound good and I wouldn't use it but I've often heard it in both the US and Canada in normal conversation.

It is very good.
It is well worth it.

It is very worth the money. - does this sound right to you?

'Good' is an adjective whereas 'worth' is not. You only 'use' very with an adjective.
It is common to hear non-native speakers say that but it is wrong.

To emphasize the extent to which soemthing is worth, i think 'really' sounds better.

1. but it was really worth discussing.
2. It's really worth the $50
3. I think all that's really worth doing.
4. Yes, it's really worth it.
5. 61992SPOKABC_20/20 making would be really worth his while.
