    Help! about the poem lines??

    dear,

    This is a poem about mother's love. Can you explain the last two lines for me?

    The greatest gift--a love of life--
    Lay laughing in your eyes.
    Because of you my world still has
    The soft grace of your smile;
    And every wind of fortune bears
    The scent of your caress.

    Many thanks!

    Paula

    It's as if all good things that come in life carry a reminder of the love of his mother. At least, that's my interpretation, but poetry's very subjective.

    Dear tdol,

    that's you interpretation of the two lines, but how about the literal meaning of " every wind of fourtune"? thanks a lot!
