    Default How is/are your studies?

When I ask somebody how he or she is progressing in their subjects, do I say?

    How are your studies? OR
    How is your studies?

Or should I ask in another way?

    Thanks in advance.

you could say: "How are your studies going?" or "How is your studying going?"
