    Default bulk

When winter descends to the bulk of North America, the clilmate of Florida remains mild and pleasant.

is the "bulk" correctly used in the sentence?or should I use "bulkest" here?
and is it correct to use climate instead of weather here?

    thanks

Your sentence sounds fine to me.

Bulk meaning the major portion or greater part.
    climate is OK.
