Dear All,

I'm teching Grade 1 students describing words but I'm not sure if numbers are considered describing words. I think they should be, could you please confirm?

Describing words can be short, big, fat, or even colour words etc.

Someone please answer this question: Can we say numbers are describing words?

Some call them adjectives , others say they are determiners.

They can also be used in other ways- as pronouns, for example.

So do you think it's correct if we tell the grade 1 students that the number words are describing words such as thirt in thirty classrooms?
