    repeating words

    1)"I often said to them that I had had a presentiment of all this long ago".

    2)"And when I told them that that might be perfectly true".

    Why are the letters in bold are repeated?
    And can I use this repeating words for my essay?how?

    In both cases the words are different parts of speech, despite their same spelling. Look in a good dictionary for all the possible uses of these words.
