Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

According to the history taken from Nurse Vickers, he was twenty-eight, employed by an industrial firm in New York, divorced, and the father of three children.

According to the history taken from Nurse Vickers,.. = According to records in the form made by the sister Vickers,..

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

V.

Nurses and doctors will take a patient's medical history, meaning that they ask the patient about past illnesses or operations.

Generally it would be worded that the history is taken BY the nurse FROM the patient since the questions are asked by the nurse and the information is from the patient.

Your understanding is correct.
