Question Recommendation Letter > past tense VS present perfect ?

how do we make a recommendation letter (RL) for
a student who has already graduated?

should we use past tense or present perfect tense?

    for example:

A> He has consistently attained A or B grades in most of his subjects
B> He consistently attained A or B grades in most of his subjects

    and

A> I have taught him in several subjects
B> I taught him in several subjects

    thanks for your help..

    Hi, a SAP lover,

I would use the present perfect if the student has very recently graduated and you are writing a general letter of recommendation for him to show to prospective employers.

The past tense would be more appropriate if you were asked to provide a reference for a former student applying for a new job some years down the line.
