The use of "so" to mean "definitely" before a verb is a fairly recent thing. You will hear people say "I'm SO going that concert", meaning "I am definitely going to go to that concert"; "I'm SO not going to drink as much this Saturday!" to mean "I'm definitely not going to drink as much this Saturday [as I did last Saturday]"

However, it doesn't sound natural in your sentence. I think "jumping for joy" alone sounds fine.

Also - a person usually "jumps for joy", not "jumps with joy", and I'm not sure that we would say that a "heart" jumps for joy.

I think I would say something like:

Seeing the family photos made my heart leap with happiness.
Seeing the family photos, I was jumping for joy!

What do you think?

Thank you emsr2d2 for your answer and corrected my mistakes.

For me "jumping for joy" kind of like a child received a present and he/she is jumping for joy. Am I correct?

I want to express the joyful feeling from the heart, so your first suggestion perhaps more suitable to what I am trying to say but I like to use the word "joy". Is there other way to compose the sentence please?

Maybe "my heart was filled with joy"?

Maybe "my heart was filled with joy"?

Thank you. This is exactly what I am trying to express. But why past tense is used? Say if I am typing an email and that feeling is still there while I am typing. Can I say "my heart is filled with joy"?

Thanks.
