    Default meaning of "could"

1 He could end up as President. (Does it mean "maybe he'll become the president sometime in future"?)
2 She could never entertain the idea of living in the country.
Pls help me with the sentences, thanks a lot.

    Yes.

To "entertain" an idea is to consider it. Remember that can/could = possible, while can't/couldn't = impossible (and "never" acts like "not" in this sentence.) Try to put it all together!
