    Our work is done!

    What is the meaning of this expression?

    Soon our work is done, all of us one by one.

    Thanks.

    Since the phrases or the sentences on your posts come out of thin air, that's to say, without a context, they always need shots in the dark to be explained. Anyways, here is my shot;

    Whatsoever work that may be, is over, finished, it doesn't exist anymore. It could be an actual work, or any reference to a relationship, or etc., but without a context, it is very hard, at least for me, to tell which of them is meant in the first place.

    Hello, Mr. McKane.

    Is that a beautiful way to say that all of us will soon finish our

    mission here on earth and go to Heaven (or that other place)???

    Thank you

    I had actually imagined a scene of independent yeoman farmers finishing a long day's work.

    However, given the stated location of our Mr. Mckane, I believe your interpretation makes much more sense!

    We are honored by your presence here, Mr. Mckane!
