    Default onto ???

    He is onto you.

What exactly does that mean ? Someone is keeping an eye on you or sneaking up on you ?

    Default onto

The word "onto" means, fully aware of; informed about.

Example: "The police are onto the robbers' plans."

As one word, "onto" is considered informal in style, but it is nonetheless commonly used idiomatically to express "be aware of".

If somebody is onto you that means he knows what you are up to.

Then I believe I made a wrong guess. I got it from a detective movie and I thought my guessing fit the scenario :P ( I know there is a proper word for ' scenario ' ) but it slips my mind. Please tell if you can come up with that.

Well, you weren't too far off. He must have been keeping an eye on you to be able to figure out what you were up to.

I think scenario is exactly the right word there.

I sort of hit the nail on the head then :). ' scenario ' turns out to be so exact a word to be used :)
