"Most of the students expressed that they prefer when the teacher gives out the rules and then ask them to practise the language (a deductive approach); two students, however, said that they prefer when the teacher first sets a context, elicits the meaning from them, and later gives the rules (a more inductive approach). The most highlighted difficulty concerned the speaking skill. Some students stated that they can easily read and write in English, but have problems when they have to speak. Most of them also expressed difficulties in listening, especially to “authentic” material (not from course books e.g. songs, sitcoms, etc)."
