You're an English teacher, HK?

The words blind and leading spring to mind.

Using capital letters and correct punctuation would be a good place to start.

Remember the 5 C's in cover letter writing - correct, concise, complete, concrete and courteous. Best of luck!

Bear in mind that most DoSs have little time to go through applications. The first thing they will do is skim over it and any grammatical or spelling errors will leap out at them. They probably won't go any further than that.

So... proof read it once. Then get a friend to proof read it. Then check it again.

And since DoSs are busy, make sure it's shot and to the point with just enough information to get the DoS interested.
