Question Strong or weak form of Some?

    Hello

I don't know whether in this sentence "some" is strong or weak.

"The albums chart is filled with some of the least offensive music ever made..."

I think it is strong, because of the word next to it,"of".And I think in this case "some" is not having the role of a quantifier, which if it were so, it would be weak

    then:

    |sʌm| or |səm|?

Re: Strong or weak form of Some?

In 'some of the <superlative>' 'some' is always strong, and 'of' is weak: /'sʌmǝv/. Come to think of it even without the superlative it would be strong: 'I want /'sʌmǝv/ that' - there, the /v/ might elide too.
