Not a teacher only a native.
In today's society, our lives are surrounded by a huge amount of commercials. Commercials appear in large amounts on almost every means of communication, such as television, radio and in newspapers. Appearing in such density, it is no surprise advertisements have, to some extent, impacted on the beliefs of consumers. The expectations of the customers, after having witnessed the inflated claims of such commercials, are often unrealistic and lead to many problems when they find the product fails to live up to expectations.
It is easy to see, thanks to the advanced techniques used in advertising today, the impact adverts are having on our society. The main means of communication of advertisements is through images and logos which directly try to influence people. Therefore, almost every advertiser also attaches special importance not only to the content of adverts, but also to the quantity of images or screen time exposure of the advert. This often leads to the situation where the products advertised on television not only exagerate their claims, but by doing so, also deceive customers who trustfully purchase the product based on these claims.
Another important issue is that many people, after a hard days work, like spending their valuable time by watching their favourite film or television program. However, this relaxation is spoilt due to continous interruptions by numerous advertisements. This undoubtedly keeps people in suspense but at the same time badly ruins the feelings people experience during a romantic movie or a thriller, which will never come back again. A consequence of this is that people are starting to boycott the advertised products.
Hope this helps, I'm not a teacher like I said, only a native.
EDIT: Have rechecked and amended a few details.
