Default be rather backward in coming forward

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

They are rather backward in coming forward with the needful

be backward in coming forward = do something very unwillingly

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

Default Re: be rather backward in coming forward

Usually because of shyness. Not willing to express ideas or desires.
