Is there a structure like 'adjective + preposition...' ?

My sentence 'You were absent of mind'. (I know the best expression is "You were absent-minded", but I am finding another expression).

    Please help !
    Thank you very much !

'You were absent of mind' doesn't work.

I thought of 'I was light of heart'.
