Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Frisco seemed in mo hurry o find Alf the job he had promised. Alf put his pride in his pocket and went to ask him if he knew of anything available, prepared to take any job Frisco might offer.

put one’s pride in his pocket = pocket one’s pride = swallow an insult

Thanks for your efforts.

Regards,

V.

You´re correct. Also, swallow one´s pride or put aside your pride
