Default Keep on / carry on

    Hello
Could you help me, I don't get the difference between "keep on" and "carry on". Both mean "to continue" doing something, but I guess you wouldn't say "carry on reading" but "keep on reading"?
Or maybe there are other differences between them in certain situations?
    Thanks

I would say that both mean the same thing, but "carry on" is rarely used in Am. Eng.

I would say they're interchangeable and are used equally in BrE.

I don't think the series of "Carry On" films would have been quite as funny if they'd been called "Keep On ..." but then, if they'd always been the latter, I guess we wouldn't know!

In AmE, carry-ons are found mostly in airports How great to "know" someone else who remembers the "Carry On" movies.
