    difficult to pronounce

I am making a list of English words which are hard to pronounce, or whose pronounciation may be uncertain. If you have any likely candidates, please send them or post them. I already have all the words with *ough in the list!

    Thanks

There's a big difference between words which are hard to pronounce, and those whose pronunciation is unclear.

Whether a word is easy to pronounce depends very much on your native language.

However, the uncertainty problem is certainly one that many English students struggle with, understandably.

I won't add any right now, as I'll be here for hours, but I would like to recommend a very useful website for checking pronunciation:

    www.forvo.com

Go to the English section, type in any word, and you're bound to find several examples of pronunciation to listen to (includes many different native accents which can be very interesting!)
