Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
Dolezhal smiled at her, “Madam, the more I know you, the higher you rise in my estimation.” (Heyn’s “The Eyes of Reason”, book two, chapter 13)
rise in somebody’s estimation = make a good impression on someone
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V
