At least, to find out if I should take any electric appliances along. As far as I'm aware all Canadian electric devices operate at lower voltages than those in Russia
You were so right in saying this! Now that I'm in Canada I can see why you said so. There are lots of people speaking English with an accent. There are such a lot of different nationalities here! Most of them are residents, so they speak very good Enlgish. Our teachers are native Canadians though.I wouldn't worry too much about pronunciation. Remember that Canada is multi-cultural, so you're going to run into a great deal of people who speak (Canada) English with an accent.
