    What is the difference between vicar & priest.

    Hi Native speakers. can you interprete the difference between vicar & priest? Are they the same meaning, or only minor difference between them?

    As far as I know every vicar is a priest, but not every priest is a vicar.
    In order to be a vicar you have to look after a rectorate.
    An ordination of priests is also recommend.
