    Default that's flat

    Dear teachers,

Would you tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

No eye hath seen such scarecrows. I’ll not march through Coventry with them, that’s flat. (Shakespeare’s “King Henry IV”)

that’s flat = the matter is definitely settled

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

Yes, it means that your decision is made and nothing will change it.
