    Default Hi,

    Hi,

I've just recently acquired my TEFL certificate and I plan to travel to Korea to teach. I've been doing some research on the internet and some of the information I've come across is just plain scary. Has anybody out there got any advice, i.e. do I wait till I get to Korea to look for a job?, should I try to get a visa before I go? where in Korea should I go first? any advice would be greatly appreciated. Patrick.

I haven't taught there, but I have heard many stories and you certainly should be careful there. Try this site www.eslcity.com - it's written by a teacher working there who may well be able to give you some sound advice on the specifics of teaching there - or www.hogwan.org. I would also suggest checking somewhere like http://www.englishschoolwatch.org/ for information on individual schools.
