A "jones" for anything is a craving or yen for it, or an addiction to it. It's a very informal term.

You can also use it like this:

I'm jonesing for a cigarette.

How about this one? "Keep up with the jonses"

Is it BE or AmE?

It's well known in America.

It means essentially to match your neighbors and peers, especially in lifestyle. If they get a Blu-ray player, you need to have one. If they get a new car, you need one, etc.

With all do respect it was from "COSMOPOLITAN" . Here it goes "Treat that call-him craving like an ice-cream jones". So I believe I didn't make any mistake in my previous post.

I might suggest that sometimes when googling a word you don't come up with an appropriate meaning. So judging from the context given above it sure is " an ice-cream jones" not as stated by you sir.

And with all due respect to you, if you had provided that context in your original post I could have saved myself some time and trouble.
