What the real meaning for "young girl"?

Hello friends. I have two questions:

    1- A "young girl" is:

    A) A girl between 10 and 15 years old (or a female child)

    B) A young unmarried woman (between 15 - 22 years old)

2- The definition of the word "MAIDEN" is: "a young unmarried gir". So a maiden have:

    A) Between 10 - 15 years old

    B) Between 15 - 22 years old

    ??????????????

Re: What the real meaning for "young girl"?

Anything to do with age is subjective.

For me, a "young girl" is still in elementary school. My teenage daughter would be insulted to hear some might think of her as a "young girl."

Do not use the word "maiden" in modern conversation to refer to a young woman.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

yeah! I know that MAIDEN is an archaic word. But what was the age of a maiden? In some dictionaries, "maiden" means "young girl" and other dictionaries means "young woman". what was the age that had a maiden?

A maiden is a virgin. In societies where unmarried woman can generally be considered virgins, you could refer to a young woman/girl as a maiden.
There is no cut-off age. When does someone become old?

Apparently the translators of the Bible had a problem with this too, and it led (partly) to the whole "Virgin Mary" idea, where the original simply meant a young girl.
