Start with your highest degree, even if it's in progress.

Dear [get the name of the person recruiting, and don't say "to whom it may concern"],

I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University. {IF this is going to US-based employers, no need to specify USA.}. My undergraduate degree is in Standardization and Certification (oil chemistry), from [name of university] in Russia.

I am looking for a summer internship in the, with the ultimate goal of full-time employment upon my graduation in 2012.

My work experience includes... [or my fields of research have included...]
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
