    One quick way to give yourself an idea is to search in Google with double inverted commas around the words:
    "Smart ass" 594,000
    "Smarty pants" 156,000
    "Smart aleck" 84,500
    "Smart alec" 56,400

    This suggests that 'smart ass' is the winner.
