Which is more frequently used ready or ready cooked food?

We pop food in or into a microwave? Do we say microwave or microwave oven? What about the verb "to microwave"? Is it used a lot? What would "microwaveable or microwavable" mean? Food that we cook in a microwave?

The shorter forms are more common; you can say microwave oven, but dropping oven is very common. The verb is used a lot, in BrE at least. If something is microwavable, you can microwave it.
