    correct sentence?

    Hi teacher

I am quite sure that the following sentence is wrong...what is the correct one? I think "where" should be changed to "for whom" or am I wrong?

....except for five patients where the diagnosis were established on clinical signs, ......

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: correct sentence?

No, "... patients where..." doesn't work. Maybe "5 cases where..."?
Otherwise, I'd use, as you said, "... patients for whom", or "... by whom..."

Shouldn't that be either "diagnosis was" or "diagnoses were"
