    Question writing / write in

    I was writing an official letter to my client.. but i kinda confused. Should i use :-
    1) ...by write in to ..
    or
    2) ..by writing a letter to ..

    the sentence :

    1)We hereby request your goodself to release the warranty bond by write in to XXX Bank ....
    2) We hereby request your goodself to release the warranty bond by writing a letter to XXX bank ....

    Only #2 makes sense.

    Note that 'your good self' (it was only ever correctly used as three words) is a very old-fashioned way of saying 'you'.
