    enjoy

How to correct this sentence and make it more authentic.
Thank you for sending me flowers. I feel better when I enjoy them.

I think enjoy sounds a little strange.

***** NOT A TEACHER / ONLY MY OPINION

    Ziawj,

    (1) Maybe something like:

Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers. They have really

    cheered me up.

    Thank you

    P. S. I most respectfully and gently suggest that you avoid

words like "for sending." You have the flowers, so -- of course --

they were sent (or brought) to you. Writing teachers tell us to

    cut out all unnecessary words.

Thank you so much for the flowers. Just looking at them makes me feel better!

    OR

I enjoy them so much. They really make me feel better.

Like the previous teacher said, it is not necessary to say "sending the flowers". Simply, "Thank you for the flowers" is enough. By the way, it also unnecessary/rude to say things like, "Thank you for giving me..."

    Re: enjoy

I think that thanking someone for sending the flowers is perfectly acceptable. You are not just thanking them for the flowers, but thanking them for the effort and cost involved in arranging for the flowers to be delivered to the recipient.

I occasionally thank my ex for sending me a letter or cutting. She has already told by phone or email me the news contained in the letter or cutting, but has taken the trouble to put them in an envelope, stamp the envelope and post the originals to me.
