    Default when doing push ups

When we do push ups first we 1)bring the weight of our body down then we 2)push back up or push upwards?

    1) Correct? 2) Correct?

Actually, I would say "push ourselves back up" or "push our body (back) up". Maybe I am overly literal about this type of thing, but in a push up we actually push down towards the ground, and it is our body that goes up.
