    Hi there,

    Please proofread:

    I took sick leave today.
    I am going to take maternality leave next week.
    I was off work today becuase of feeling sick.

    We are more likely to say, "I am going to start (my) maternity leave next week," as this type of leave is usually for far more than one week.
