    Default Vocabulary Question

    What is it called when you have words spelled differently that are pronounced the same, such as there, their, they're? And what is it called when words are spelled the same, but pronouned differently, such as read, lead, etc.?

    words spelled differently that are pronounced the same - are called homophones.
    when words are spelled the same, but pronouned differently- are called homographs.
