    Default step up

    Dear teachers,

Would you tell me whether Iíve chosen the proper meaning of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Germany's interior minister has announced that security is being stepped up at airports and train stations across the country.

    step up = heighten

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V
