    Default the cause of peace

I definitely embrace the cause of peace.

Could you tell me the meaning of 'cause' above?

By the way, I'm all for the world peace; my enthusiasm is not only confined to the question.

    Thank you.
Hopefully, world peace would come true in one day.

A "cause" is the reason a group of people get together to act. It might be to save the whales or to enact meaningful tax reform.
