Re: Be of an extreme importance

There could be times when the article makes sense- what's the context?

Is it right to omit "the" in the sentence?

Yes, according to my two dictionaries which say that "importance" is an uncountable noun.

No, the question was about the "indefinite article" - 'an' in this case.
As usual, you are on the wrong track.

Re: Be of an extreme importance

I merged your threads, because there did not seem to be any point in asking the same question in a new thread.

It is of extreme importance, without the article.
    It is extremely important.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
