    wiry = muscular

    Dear teachers,

    Would you help to me to make the proper choice of the word in bold in the following sentence?

    A slim, wiry youth in high-heeled boots came down to the water's edge.

    wiry = muscular

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

    Not really. I feel that the main idea is 'strong, tough in appearance, despite being thin'.

    Hi fivejedjon,

    Thank you for your kindness.

    I agree with your correction.

    wiry = tenacious, hardy

    Despite being thin he have great powers of endurance.

    Regards,

    V.
