Default Any idioms for summer holidays??

    My summer holiday begins soon

Are there any idioms, sayings or expressions relating to summer holidays that you say when you feel happy knowing that it's all ahead
(and to make others sad or jealous)

The only summer idioms I can think of are:

The dog days of summer..... those hottest, dampest, worst days of a hot summer.... "I hate the dog days of summer, I always go to the lake then."

Indian Summer.... after summer and it starts to cool off in the fall, if it gets nice and warm again for a week, it is called Indian summer... "We're having a nice Indian summer, aren't we?)

The boys of summer... American baseball players are called the boys of summer, since they play ball all summer long.

We also have 'busman's holiday' for a working holiday.

    OK
    Thanks for the info
Didn't know that "boys of summer"means baseball players.
There's a song called "boys of summer" isn't there.

But what exactly is busman's holiday?
Is it for a "workaholic" who spends the holiday for working?

    Busman's Holiday for a workaholic?

Could be, but more frequently, for when someone -has- to, or accidently, does on their holiday what they do at work.

I have heard that said: To a pilot who was flying to his vacation, to a doctor who, on his holiday, ends up treating a sick person on the beach... his wife looked at all of us and said "Kind of a busman's holiday, hmmm?"...

I think it came from the fact that a bus driver (busman) HAS to take a bus to get to his vacation... his first day on vacation, and boom, he's on a bus again....so it's more of a joke than a workaholic situation... when you find yourself trying to get away from work and boom.. there is your work in front of you again...

OK Thanks for the answer Robert
