Hi,

1) I was wondering if you had the time to go through the papers.

OR

2) I was wondering if you have the time to go through the papers.

Which one is correct?

Regards,

Rita

Hir Rita,

Both are correct. There is just a time difference:

1) Did you have time (e.g. yesterday, last week) to go through the papers?

2) Do you have time (e.g. now, during the morning) to go through the papers?

Hope it helps.

Greetings,

Actually, they are both correct with the meaning, "Do you have (the) time, now or in the near fuure, to go through the papers?

The second is more hesitant, more diffident.
