starting a mail to my manager

    Dear Forum teacher
I usually start emails to my manager asking "This mail to give you an update about my current activities.".
I have a doubt: is this correct? Is this the proper way to say what I mean or I should start in a different way?
    Kind Regards
    CS

You could write, 'Here's an update about my current activities'.
