Hi,

I have one doubt.

Is it necessary to put punctuation mark comma (,) after the word Currently?

For example,
Currently, I am working.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

Heather,

(1) You have asked an excellent question.

(2) Remember that I am not a teacher.

(3) My answer is YES.

(4) I believe most writing experts suggest a comma when an adverb

introduces a sentence. Notice the natural pause in your voice:

Tom: I am studying at the university. What are you doing?

Martha: Currently, I am working. But I hope to enter the university

next year.

(5) You probably know that if the adverb comes in any other

position, a comma is not usually used:

I am currently working.

I am working currently.

(Notice that I could have written: Probably, [comma] you know ....)

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

P.S. "Currently" means "at the present time." I think that

95% of writing teachers would require a comma in:

At the present time, I am working.
