as to do the reasons for....

"He did not inquire as to do the reasons for their beliefs but stated that...."

I can understand in a big picture but those words are not clear.
Especially, 'as to do', what is the function for as and to do?

    Can you help me please?

    Thanks

    Delete 'do'.

    '...as to...' means 'about'.
